From chapter 9 I liked the idea of user involvement. It’s better to involve users who use the product every day than high – skilled managers. My question is the following. What are the ways in which users can really affect the product development?

The only real way for users to know they are affecting a products development is by actually helping develop the product themselves. When actually giving input to a company or something producing a new product you are not sure if they will use your ideas or not. Lot of companies say they want to know what you want and need but do not actually follow with their products. Inevitably this hurts them by not listening to their users but this is sometimes the case. So in short then the best way I believe the users can affect a products development is by actually participating in the developing process themselves, if this is possible which it rarely is.

I think the only way users can affect the product development is actually finding the users that fit the product the absolute best. Then getting as much information from them as possible about the product, such as what they think, their likes, their dislikes, any potential problems with the product, ideas of how the make the product even better. Actually getting them involved with the ideas to create the product is what would be the most benificial to the developers and the users.
