HCI – Blogging Essay

Bloggings is an activity we had to do each week in our class. I want to say all of us have probably gotten the hang of the blogging process.  I personally have never blogged before I300 and I have found blogging to be a good way to make your opinion known to other people and have them give you feedback on your opinion.

I have found that blogging is a good method of Human Computer Interaction.  Blogging allows users to use computers to express themselves.  Blogging gives users a way to express their thoughts, ideas or opinions about a topic or event on a specific website.

I have found that most websites give users the opportunity to blog about the content located on the site.  The website my group is working with, BloomingtonAlternatice.com doesn’t give users that ability to blog about what is being discussed on the site.  They only blog found on the site is Amber’s Blog. It is a bloomington girl who writes about what is happening in the town.  The disadvantage to this, is that other people can not comment on what she has to say.

Please discuss one or more of these questions. You don’t have to answer all of them, I just want to see what you think.   How do you feel about blogging?   Do you think it is an advantage or disadvantage or HCI?    How did you feel about the blogs we had to write in class?   What did you think about the comments people wrote about your blog?

I think the last assignment on blogging (writing three paragraph essay connected with HCI) is more productive than the previous “question – answer” approach. We can use this essay as a tool to get suggestions and comments on our final projects. It is a real life example. For instance, if you have a problem you can share it on blogs and get very useful advices and suggestions you would never think of.
Because every man is unique and looks at world with his own perspective the range of answers and comments on blogs may vary greatly. Blogging is a good way of benefiting from the uniqueness of human mindset.

I agree with you in thinking that blogging is a great way to express your own feelings and have other people comment on them and express their right back. With your website…it seems crappy that the users can’t reply to her comments about Bloomington. That kinda takes out a major aspect of blogs.

I think blogging is a good way to get advice also, I never saw it in that perspective. I remember how I have googled things before and on the sites you can find what people have done in a particular situation. I thought it took out a major aspect of blogging as well. I mean, isn’t that the whole point of blogging? To get feedback from other people on what you have to say.

I think blogging is a good way to get information out to the public. It is an easy way for people to get information out to other people with the same interests. It also allows for one person to anonymously say what they think without too much fear or worry about what other people think. This helps to promote a sense of honesty and truthfulness and allows people to say something that they might have otherwise kept to themselves. I really liked blogging in this class. It gave me useful information regarding what was going on in the world of IT. It also really helped me to focus on the reading as well as using it as a tool to review what I had just went over.
