Chris, this is a really good point. But no one is arguing that a paper prototype is an exact substitute for a working one. When done correctly, it helps you land in the ball park. Here is the place where you use your creativity to ensure that the paper prototype is as close to the prototype you had in mind!
For example, how about sticking bright color post-it notes in place of the ad’s?

Good predispositions!
The bullets in your research are actually insights. Research should quote facts from your research.
Also I am not convinced with the concept of popup ads.

1) Millions of people have to use iTunes and I reasonably think that anyone could take 5 minutes to create a lifetime account;
2) It is the Store, involving money transactions, so why not require users to login to prevent others from using his iTunes Store account? I could add another checkbox “Remember me on this computer” though, if typing in a username, along with a password everytime, is a pain.

Your predispositions are pretty good. The statement “People don’t look at ads anymore” is a very strong statement. Try and rephrase it.

Also rephrase your research statement “Most people would want a customizable home page”. This looks more like an assumption rather than a well researched statement.

Good work on the predispositions. Your insights should have a flow from the reseacrh which is missing here. If you feel that you need to give an explanaion, then please do so. For example, the insight “Users skip the homepage and go straight to the searchbar” looks like it just popped out of the blue sky. Try and make a connection with a logical flow.
